• Construction of the spars: mast, boom, and gaff yard. Mast made of four pieces of spruce glued against the grain to ensure straightness, and laminated with strips of Spanish cedar. Boom goosenecks, mast partner and mast base ring made of oak; and making of their respective leather sheaths.

• Manufacture of deck hardware in ash, beech, and oak: cleats, fairleads, pulleys, deadeyes, and mast rings. The latter are made from steam-turned ash strips.
