• Installation of the planking battens along the mold. Strips approximately 16 feet x 3/4 in. x 3/8 in. are fixed at the location of each future hull plank. The 3/8 in. corresponding to the thickness of the planks.

• Planing, cutting, and assembling the bottom plank of the boat, conforming to the shape of the double-chine, then beveling it with a groove on each side to accommodate the first plank or garboard.

• Adding “duchman” or graving piece to repair some problematic knots.
